The Diocese of Bath and Wells | Leadership

Leadership

As the Anglican church changes, the demands on leadership increases. We've outlined some of the support we offer for ordained leaders in the booklet Learning and Growing through the Years.

Newly ordained leaders begin their ministries supported by our Initial Ministerial Education programme. This leads into our  continuation courses programme which encourages lifelong learning and is also open to other non-ordained leaders.

Leadership is not exclusively about ordained leaders. Readers play a vital part of the church's ministry and we have a rich tradition of equipping them in our Reader training programme.

We also offer courses for those lay leaders who feel God's calling in their lives in our leadership courses programme. These opportunities are sometimes shared with the clergy and Readers, and sometimes more specific to the lay leader's role.

Wherever God is calling women and men to lead the church, we are offering resources, help and support to equip them to follow God as servant leaders. We offer a range of learning opportunities and courses for different leaders
