The Diocese of Bath and Wells | What we offer

What we offer - more than just courses

The School is involved in providing a variety of learning opportunities for people in and beyond the Diocese. We have developed a framework for learning which links together all our resources in the learning environment, defines the purpose of our work and offers a rich three level curriculum.

Our focus is to enable the Church to be confident in its mission and built up as the Body of Christ. To achieve this we offer courses and learning opportunities in:

Discipleship

Ministry

Leadership

Why these themes?

At the heart of all Christians is a desire to follow God, to grow into Christ's likeness and to learn more about who God is and what God is like. This is what it means to be a disciple.

We also believe that people are called to share the work of God. In the church this is usually termed ministry. It is about using the gifts God gives in the service of the world.

Like any organisation, the church needs leadership, people who are well trained and confident in the calling they follow.

Short modules

Alongside our more in-depth programmes, we also offer a range of shorter modules

Learning difficulties

The School of Formation seeks to be genuinely inclusive and is committed to helping all students access its courses. If you have a specific learning difficulty please get in touch with us and we can refer you to someone for an initial consultation.
