The Bishops of Bath & Wells and Taunton

The Bishop of Bath and Wells is assisted in his work by the Bishop of Taunton, and by three Archdeacons based in Bath, Wells and Taunton.

Together with senior colleagues in the Bishops Staff, they are responsible for the life of the church in the Diocese, and for the development of the Changing Lives strategy.

The Bishops and their staff are based at the Bishops' Office in Wells.

The Bishop of Bath and Wells

The Rt Revd Peter Price has been Bishop of Bath and Wells since 2003. He has been one of the Bishops in the House of Lords since 2008.

The Bishop of Taunton

The Rt Revd Peter Maurice became Bishop of Taunton in 2006.

He has responsibility for the Ministry Forum, and the School of Formation in addition to his pastoral, mission and other ministry roles.
