The Jesus Society - think differently
Caption: Resurrection Cross in the Bishop's Chapel
One of the inspirations for Changing Lives has been this fresh vision of the Christian faith, shared widely across the Diocese by Bishop Peter.
Jesus says in his society:
You show wisdom by trusting people;
You handle leadership by serving;
You handle offenders by forgiving;
You handle money by sharing;
You handle enemies by loving;
You handle violence by suffering.
You have a new attitude:
Towards everything
Towards everybody
Towards nature
Towards the state
Towards all and to every single thing.
And in a Jesus Society, you repent, not by feeling bad, but by thinking differently.
The text is based on a passage in The Blue Mountains of China by the Canadian Mennonite writer Rudy Wiebe.
